Accounts Payable Specialist

Malvern, PA

Reports to: A/P Manager

 

Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist will work under the supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager.   The role will perform a number of Accounts Payable duties and assist as needed with special activities.

Responsibilities

  • Enter invoices and match to corresponding purchase orders
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices
  • Check processing
  • Respond to vendor telephone and email inquiries
  • Participate in month-end close activities including the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Interact with all departments and employees as required
  • Maintain accounts payable files
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience; Equivalent experience may be considered
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in A/P

 

Experience

  • Prior experience with automated accounts payable routing system and e-invoicing a plus

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with professional discretion with confidential information
  • Team player and flexible attitude
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Demonstrate attention to detail while being able to multitask
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of MAS 90 and/or Microsoft Dynamics SL strongly desired
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environment
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction

 

 

Physical Job Requirements

  • Operates various equipment pieces such as –computer, phone, fax/copier
  • Strength – ability to lift up to five pounds
  • Climbing or balancing –
  • Walking/running/stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling –to & from meetings, getting supplies
  • Hand and finger dexterity for reaching, handling, and/or feeling – for use of phone/computer/fax/copier
  • Talking and/or hearing –for meetings in person or over the phone
  • Seeing –computer screen, using the phone/copier/scanner/fax
